On Friday, June 21st we celebrated the grand opening of the new Aviation SIM Centre and Innovation Hub!
We were joined by our federal funding partners, members of the Regional Council, regional leadership, airline partners, and media members to celebrate this exciting milestone!

Our facility features a suite of state-of-the-art aircraft simulators that deliver true-to-life flight experiences across several of the most common commercial aircraft in Canada.
- 300+ realistic malfunctions across 13 aircraft systems, including engine, hydraulic, electrical, and flight control systems.
- Dual FMS with authentic MCDC/FMC programming and navigation procedures
- Immersive audio systems with engine sounds, warnings, and call-outs
- 220° wrap-around visual system for realized airport and weather conditions
- Multi-crew CRM scenarios and collaborative decision-making exercises
- TCAS, EGPWS, and weather radar training with realistic threat scenarios
- Pre-programmed lesson plans reduce instructor setup time and ensure training consistency, including failure injection capabilities, covering flight controls, hydraulics, electrical, and engine systems.
