Post Secondary Program

University Of Waterloo

You can join the University of Waterloo's Geography and Aviation (BES) or Science and Aviation (BSc) programs, with flight training provided by WWFC.

In the Geography and Aviation program, you’ll earn your Commercial Pilot Licence while learning to interpret weather patterns, land formations, and use tools like geographic information systems and remote sensing.

The Science and Aviation program combines advanced flight training with a strong science foundation, including courses in cartography, climatology, aerodynamics, and more. Both programs prepare you for a career in aviation with a unique educational approach.

airline tranport pilot license program (ATPL)

The Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) Program is an 18-month accelerated course designed for students with no prior flight experience, preparing them for a career in aviation.

The ATPL is the highest certification a pilot can attain, essential for captains operating commercial airlines. Most commercial aircraft require a crew of two or more pilots, and the captain must hold an ATPL. For many pilots, achieving this licence represents the pinnacle of their career aspirations.

Modular approach self-paced

The modular approach to flight training is for highly motivated, self-starters looking to work on their licences and ratings at their own pace and does not follow a predetermined set of benchmark timelines.

This approach to training consists of a four to seven modular process that is completed at the convenience of the student and provides the training needed to move from aspiring pilot to commercial pilot.
