RECREATIONAL COURSES
Private Pilot Licence
With a Private Pilot Licence (PPL), you can fly an aircraft recreationally and carry passengers, though you cannot be paid for your flying services.
A Private Pilot Licence – Aeroplane, allows you to:
- Recreational Flying: You can fly yourself, friends, and family almost anywhere, as long as you adhere to visual flight rules (VFR) and stay within your licensing restrictions.
- Carry Passengers: You’re permitted to carry passengers, but you cannot charge them for the flight. Sharing costs, however, is usually allowed, meaning you can split expenses like fuel and landing fees.
- Fly in Controlled Airspace: With a PPL, you can fly in controlled airspace and communicate with air traffic control, although some restrictions apply based on your endorsements and airspace regulations.
- Earn Additional Ratings and Endorsements: You can work toward additional certifications, like an instrument rating (to fly in adverse weather conditions) or a multi-engine rating, which allow for more flexibility and skill-building.
- Upgrade to Commercial Pilot Licence: The PPL is the foundational step toward advanced training for a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) if you aim to pursue a professional aviation career.
