Marketing Coordinator

Position Summary

The Marketing Coordinator is accountable to the Manager, Marketing and Client Experience and responsible for the development and implementation of WWFC special events and fundraising. The incumbent must demonstrate proven social media engagement success, copywriting experience, and the ability to engage intended audiences.

Responsibilities:

Website & Social Media

  • Crafts high quality and engaging social media content, primarily but not exclusively through Facebook and Instagram.
  • Tracks social media metrics and creating analytical reports for management
  • Creates and promotes new content via blogs and newsletters.
  • Aligns new content with SEO goals and client content marketing strategy.
  • Copywrites and edits content in a highly readable and engaging style for the audience targeted demographic, free from grammatical errors.
  • Liaison with other departmental managers to understand all necessary aspects of organizational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of events and program initiatives
  • Ensures website remains updated and in compliance with AODA requirements

Special Events

  • Oversees the full cycle of events from inception to logistics, including coordinating vendors, staffing, volunteers, entertainment, catering and programming
  • Assists with the development and implementation of WWFC’s special event and fundraising strategy
  • Prepares and submits regular reports to Marketing Manager and General Manager
  • Maintains the integrity of the fundraising database, including entering gifts and sending acknowledgements
  • Leads, manages, and facilitates committee meetings and attend third party meetings
  • Manages events on the day and coordinate with volunteers, staff and vendors
  • Develops and executes many internal and external events, such as, but not limited to, Wings Banquet, Girls Can Fly, Aviation Fun Day, Golf Tournament and Staff Christmas Party
  • Recruits and coordinates volunteers
  • Develops and distributes materials, such as posters, flyers and advertising
  • Research and develops sponsors and donors list for each event
  • Monitors, measures and reports on events and programs within agreed formats and timelines

Other

  • Liaison with other departmental managers to understand all necessary aspects of organizational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of events and program initiatives
  • Demonstrates the Company mission, vision and values statement, policies and current standard business practices.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Special Events, Marketing & Communications, Hospitality Management or related field, or an acceptable combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum two years’ work experience in an event/fundraising capacity, including experience recruiting and supporting volunteers
  • Working knowledge Microsoft Office, electronic marketing and database management
  • Must have technical proficiency in a variety of software programs including SEO/Website management
  • Recent and high-level expertise with WordPress and social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Graphic design and basic photography experiences are an asset
  • Must have experience creating high-quality print marketing, website/blog entry, and editing
  • Excellent administrative, interpersonal and communications skills, including writing, proof reading and speaking
  • Sound analytical thinking, independent judgement, reasoning, and discretion
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with a team
  • Must be willing to work occasional weekends as required
  • The right candidate will be able to handle repetitive tasks as well as thinking outside the box to deliver new and innovative ideas

Flight Instructors

Reports to: Chief Flight Instructor
Department: Flight Training
Location: Breslau, ON

Overview

Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre (WWFC) is a dynamic flight training facility with more than 80 years of history, and one of the top manned aviation schools in Canada. We have multiple opportunities for Flight Instructors. We offer high quality instruction to students seeking a career in the aviation industry at various levels. Instructors not only teach in the aircraft, but also in the simulator and ground school classes. Instructors will be expected to teach lessons from PPL through to Multi-IFR, as per appropriate ratings and training, and to have some administrative responsibilities in addition to flight training.

Job Requirements

  • Canadian Flight Instructor Rating

Preference will be given to applicants with some, or many of the following:

  • Group 1 Instrument Rating
  • Previous employment as a pilot
  • Airline Transport Pilot License
  • Mulit/IFR teaching experience
  • Aviation Degree/Diploma
