WWFC Gradually Resumes Operations

Region of Waterloo and neighbouring Wellington County have moved to Phase 2 of the Province’s Reopening Plan and more businesses, including some requiring close proximity (i.e. hair salons) are allowed to open starting June 12.

WWFC has developed a risk mitigation plan involving limited numbers of people in the building, physical distancing, mask/face shield required, Plexiglas counter protection and extensive sanitizing in the building and aircraft. Please do not come to the Flight Centre if you do not have an appointment or flight booking. Runways Cafe is still closed for now and will possibly reopen early July.

Initially (starting June 15), we will conduct solo/rental flying only for PPL licenced pilots with more than 100 hours and a Night Rating who have flown within the last 90 days. We will only be using 10 of our 30 aircraft. Details on this have been circulated to clients who are eligble.

We are working on plans for all existing students to resume training and complete their programs as quickly as possible. Details will be circulated to each specific class (or group) as to their plan in the coming weeks. This will include written outlines and Zoom briefings.

Phase Two of our reopening will depend on how well our mitigation plan works and whether the COVID-19 virus continues to be contained. We will have further news in early July.

Runways Café is reopening July 6 for breakfast & lunch outdoor dining. New hours will be Monday to Saturday, 8am to 3pm.

If you have any questions, please email Bob Connors, General Manager.
