Course Overview
Are you looking to get started flying drones? Whether you are operating commercially or just flying for fun, let us start you off on the right foot. The basic license allows you to fly in low risk areas. On the map below you can fly anywhere there is not a red polygon with a basic license.
Worried that a single day might be too much, too fast? Don’t worry, every student receives an information package along with sample questions. We set you up with all the information and tools you need to be successful in passing your Transport Canada small Basic RPAS exam.
This Course Contains:
- Eight hours of in-class education based on Transport Canada’s guidelines
- Take home study material to support you even after you finish the class
What you will learn:
The basic course prepares an RPAS pilot to pass small basic online exam from Transport Canada. You will learn the basics of theory of flight, mission planning, meteorology, human factors, drone hardware and of course, RPAS rules and regulations.

Prerequisites: None.
Note: Pilots wishing to receive their Basic Operations RPAS Certificate from Transport Canada must be at least 14 years of age and complete the online exam.
