Private Pilot Ground School

The Private Pilot Ground school consists of a minimum of 40 hours in-class taught by one of our certified flight instructors. Our PPL Ground School runs over 11 weeks, with classes on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It is offered four times per year.

During the course you will gain valuable knowledge in Air Law, Navigation, Meteorology, and Aeronautics – General Knowledge. You will also complete your PSTAR exam and Restricted Radio Operators Licence.

Ground school is mandatory for the Private Pilot Licence and is highly recommended for those working on their Recreational Pilot Permit. It will help prepare you for the mandatory Transport Canada Written Examination, which can be written at WWFC.
